One of the underrated aspects of coding with AI is that you can discover new concepts as the AI works through the problem. For example, I knew about Hilbert curves, but not Jakub Červený’s modification the “gilbert” curve github.com/jakubcerveny... Thanks to Claude Code now I do!

In celebration, and demonstration for TaxonWorks Together, we've create a #iNaturalist Bioblitz. We'll demonstrate the integration live during TWT. iNat is a wonderful way to illustrate the scope of a community, hope to see you on the map! www.inaturalist.org/projects/tax...

TaxonWorks Together 2026 Bioblitz

During TWT2026, please join our first iNat Bioblitz. iNat's community aligns perfectly with our vision to build software and tools to empower people to Describe Life, together.

Species descriptions should not be confined to "summary" PDFs only providing access to a fraction of the data underlying the conclusions. We here argue for "digitally native species" built around structured, specimen-linked, machine-actionable evidence from day one. rdcu.be/fcbwh

Digitally native species are a necessary shift in taxonomic practice

Nature Reviews Biodiversity - Biodiversity science laments how little is known about the planet’s biodiversity, yet routinely discards much of the taxonomic evidence generated during species...

We just passed 3 million human curated Citations in the SFG instance of TaxonWorks. We see this as potential "gold" in Gold Standards usable to fuel next-generation AI-facilitated high-resolution processing of the science that circumscribes the Earth's species, #taxonomy
