Joplin, no matter how you feel about the immigration issue, this shows how a vast surveillance network like this can be exploited. Local rules don't matter when your data is shared nonchalantly. Imagine the ATF, FBI, DEA, and so on, all making it regular practice to use this system.

Ok ok, huge invoices for public records are fun, but what's the smallest, most petty invoice you've gotten? Joplin really likes slowing down access to our own records so they nickel and dime us for every request. Even tiny ones like this one for $3.23.

The city has now twice reached out to talk. This has only happened since that weird thing we had to report Seneca for. Both times we basically asked them to "do a democracy" and that appears to be too much. We are so behind on posts because behind the scenes things are weird.
