The son of the man shot and killed by ICE: I am Ronaldo Salgado, the oldest son of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. He should've been picking up the last of his guys before heading to finish up construction. Unbeknownst to all of us, my dad had been shot inside his van by ICE agents in unmarked cars.

The news from Scientific American this week has been heartbreaking. While the magazine itself will go on under its new owners, many *extremely talented* writers and editors have been let go. I do worry about the future of #science #journalism… 😔

1/ Happy Juneteenth! How a Texas emancipation commemoration spread across the US is an amazing story. But Juneteenth wasn’t the first Black Freedom Day in America—or the only one of its day. So, let’s talk about em’. Pictured: Martha Yates Jones and Pinkie V Yates, Houston Juneteenth, 1908 | HPL

So sad to hear this news, my sentiments exactly. I have wonderful memories of taking film and Spanish classes there while a student at Amherst -- the educational freedom and openness was enlivening, as well as the politicial activism that encouraged.

I am broken-hearted at the terrible news that my alma mater, @hampshirecollege.bsky.social, after 56 yrs, is closing. Its death is a victory for conformism, for corporatism, for higher education's dull love of hierarchy & status. It's a grievous defeat for imagination & experimentation.

I'm thrilled that this simple, groundbreaking tongue-swab method for TB testing has gained endorsement from the WHO. I've been following this story for about 6 years, and the progress that Jerry Cangelosi and team have made is monumental. #WorldTBDay

Lieu plays Bondi the infamous clip of Trump & Epstein partying together & asks her if there were underaged girls at any party the two attended "This is so ridiculous," Bondi says. "There's no evidence that Donald Trump has committed a crime" "I believe you just lied under oath," Lieu replies

From HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT: "Trump covers up crime with scandal. That is his main propaganda tactic, the one few seem to be able to discern...The crimes are much worse than the scandals, but the media will always take the scandal bait."
