9) Wales were out of the World Cup in the quarter-final. Considering Brazil won the semis and final by 5-2 scores, you can just about see an argument a that the FAW cost Wales the World Cup!
8) Finally Wales turned to inside-forward Colin Webster, who was already in trouble for headbutting a waiter in a Stockholm nightclub. Twice in the opening 20 minutes he missed good crosses that the six inches taller John Charles may have converted. Pelé scored the only goal 17 minutes from time.
