Is anyone regularly chatting with any AI bots over text / iMessage / WhatsApp? If so, which ones and for what?
Okay, amazing @djbeebot.com ping from yesterday! Lemme explain: (1) BeeBot read an email newsletter & lears about tree lighting. (2) BeeBot knows I passing thru WSP is part of my routine (3) BeeBot detects my change in neighborhood & uses moment to tell me about the event. 👍 IRL + context-aware!

Part of it is narcissistic personality disorder, but it's mostly the perceived weakness of Democrats. Should they retake power, no one expects Democrats to hold anyone accountable.
Had a cool @djbeebot.com moment last night... was walking past a building near Madison Square Park that had this cool exhibit inside. I was looking thru the windows trying to figure out what it was and then BeeBot perked up in my headphones...

In Apple’s case, I think two things probably happened. First, HCI was killed by behavioral economics (see below), and nobody remembers how to do it. Second, they put a supply-chain guy in charge who can’t even see design, so there is no incentive anyway.
Ian Bogost@ibogost.com · 9mo agoHCI (Human Computer Interaction), first foreshadowed by Ted Nelson as "fantics" and then formalized by Apple is effectively dead as a field of human-factors engineering. Now HCI is just behavioral economics, with computers.

Had a magical @djbeebot.com + NYC moment this morning – put on my AirPods and BeeBot tells me about this PacMan pop-up event at Macy's. (AI finds the event, AI matches event to me, AI writes the copy, AI speaks the text... it's magic when it works!)

As an OG Foursquare fan, I'm reallyyy intrigued by this new project from @dens.nyc ... it also reminds me a bit of the very-much under-appreciated Foursquare app Marsbot which also attempted proactive recommendations (and was low-key one of my fave ways to find places to eat when I was traveling)
