We're in the countdown to the #InternetNZ board elections. Deliberation is ongoing, but here are my ranked preferences as of 20/07/2026: 1 Bianca Grizhar 2 Keoni Mahelona 3 Daniel Spector 4 Annette Culpan 5 Nabil Sabio Azadi ? David Chisholm No Douglas Brown No Jan Rivers No Jillaine Heather

Have renewed my internetNZ membership but i don't know if i can go another year if each year the Free Speech Onion add a new director each year. Please people with more brains than me sort this out, because if it's one fsu person vs 10 others the fsu gets in because votes are split.

This is everything I've said about Wellington Retail landlords. People want to rent space but landlords charge too much or want contracts for too long, so they let their spaces go empty. I bet Cplace could be filled tomorrow with popups if landorlds wern't so greedy www.thepost.co.nz/nz-news/3610...

Lower rents, spruce-up key to restoring golden vision

In recent years, the once lively Golden Mile has become a graveyard of abandoned sites, with many of Wellington’s most iconic retailers and hospitality hotspots closing up shop. What now?

$1,500 for KiwiSaver at birth is only good if you keep adding money. Most families will do nothing for 20 years & in most cases it will all disappear into management fees. Why not $1,500 when you graduate high school?

Not quite sure how 91 k a month on cleaning Wellington streets resolves long term issues in Courtenay place. The problem is it's car friendly and hostile to cyclists and pedestrians. The bigger problem is our city councillors love cars and loves business more than they do the majority of ratepayers

will Labour be all over 671 million for nothing (cancelled ferries) from now till the election. Because that's an easy answer to everything NACT throw at them

The year is 2126. On one side of the Tasman, Labor partisans are yelling at the Greens about the CPRS. On the other side of the ditch, Wellington City Council has just approved its nth review of upgrading the Golden Mile Courtenay Place, meanwhile, is now underwater and Lambton Quay is a quay again

I suspect mum will hold out 2-3 weeks till she cancels her Dom Post subscription. NY times games subscription & spinoff are a given for replacements but who else is good to support for daily journalism in nz?

Not to kink shame. I suspect most women and girls feel far safer with their trans sisters than male politicians who rented porn at the taxpayers expense.

Will never understand why a street front business has more council influence than the voting population. Wellingtonians want cycle lanes and public transport corridors and more pedestrian spaces. But it never happens because 20-30 businesses (some not directly affected) don’t want it

I’m not the biggest fan of fan of Andrew Little. But 600K for a Wellington City council building website is embarrassing. It’s unconnected to the WCL catalog or databases . It’s my rates wasted instead of of fixing the golden mile or cycle lanes. So politicians are matching the extra.

can someone explain to me how national can chase a govt minister and staff member of RNZ out of office/job for an innocent mistake but labour just let national coast on lobbying bullshit? #NZPol

The most delightful wellington site is the constant stream of bicycles along Hutt road to enjoy Te Ara Tupua. The one sad bit, families having to run across the road at the bottom of Ngauranga Gorge because there's no pedestrian/cycle crossing at the traffic lights.
