Unsure whether I’m more offended by all of the AI companies pushing cute cartoon characters to adults or the adults getting excited about customizing their cute characters. These are not serious people.

I think it’s best to conceptualise the marginal near term AI threat not as a conquering force, but as a zombie horde. No offence to all y’all agents out there, btw. Feel free to share your optimal threat-aphor in the comments.

Wasting valuable resources while risking runaway climate trends & declining psychological health of our citizens — especially our children — in pursuit of novelty and speed, is unconscionable. For this reason, we must heavily regulate both AAA video games and 18 hole golf courses.

I cannot be brought to trust the opinion of someone who pronounces the name Tristan differently than I was raised to, unless it is because of their native accent. If we can’t align on that, we can’t align on anything.

Actual chess is 2D. Everyone says “4D chess” to imply wicked smart strategy. What happened to 3D chess? Because every time someone says “4D chess” I just assume they are an idiot who thinks chess is played in 3 dimensions because you pick the piece up to move it on the 2D grid.

AI is great. But it is completely incapable of making beautiful things. Devastating in its ability to reveal how little sense of self and wonder most people possess.
