Respectfully, I could not disagree with this article more. We hold our peer reviewers to the same standards we hold ourselves: respect for an author's intellectual property & *human* editorial decision-making. Yes peer review is a fraught labor issue but the answer is certainly not Gen AI.

disappointing but not surprising. Cory’s libertarian ideals have always been what gave me pause about him and his work. this is an excellent rebuttal and rebuke of Cory’s posturing on LLMs. the neologism seems to have come for the neologist.

"Book reviewing can be labor intensive ... and it takes a very special, refined skill and one that gets better with wider reading. It’s not something that can be done well on cheap labor, and along the line, the pipeline for training reviewers has diminished."
