I enjoyed how Ted Lasso’s third season ended, it would have been a great place to leave off. It was perfect. Which meant I originally didn’t get excited for season four… but I think I’ve changed my mind? The world is fucked, Ted Lasso is good for my mental health. So fuck it. Okay, I still believe.

I'm one with The Force and The Force is with me. I write things. Lover of music, RPGs & anything involving space ships or people in spandex & capes. Hobbyist indie game dev. Shitty musician. Tom Hall thinks my memory management bugs are “spectacular.”
Oh thank God. I finally found my 2DS. I’ve been looking for it for weeks.

Me when an NPC in a video game has just finished telling me a long story then asked me if I want to hear it again and I accidentally clicked “yes”
EA Games: Stripmine Everything Hey EA, do me a solid and sell Bioware and the Ultima and Wing Commander IPs on your way down to the venture capital graveyard
EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest
But we’re so pro-life here… oh right, Texas is actually pro-birth. Life can get fucked
Texas' ranking was dragged down by limited access to obstetricians, midwives and pediatric care in a new WalletHub analysis. bit.ly/3Rr7ujy
Recently got into Japanese game imports; more economical than American copies, often identical. But god, I think I’ve hit sicko mode physical media collector. My ears perked up like my dog’s when he hears me open the fridge as I was told I could find quality & low price with Japanese CD pressings.
In 2001, I played Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura by the geniuses that made my beloved Fallout 1. I had fun, grinding for weeks. The I hit a wall because I’d dropped a pair of glasses required to advance the story quest. Nothing highlighted their importance. Abandoned, never restarted.
Me as a kid losing an hour of progress in a video game: Oh well. Me as an adult losing 5 minutes of progress in a video game:
Some defenders of Sony’s digital future say discs don’t last that long. 20 years, tops! The oldest CD in my collection is a 1984 original pressing of Madonna’s Like a Virgin album. You read that right, this was printed in 1984. It is 42 years old. It’s also perfect, no degredation. Imagine that.
The great thing about the Nintendo 2DS? It’s small, it’s portable. It can be literally anywhere! The worst thing about the Nintendo 2DS? It’s small, it’s portable. It can be literally anywhere. I have not seen mine in months. Wtf did I do with it?!

Listen, Toni. I will straight-up delete my account if this platform actively courts fash chuds. I’ve already quit everything else, it will not bother me in the slightest. I’m not alone. We flocked here for a reason.
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
Just when I think my lifelong hyperfixation with physical media couldn’t get any more niche, I wake up this morning thinking, “I should get a Roland MT-90S.”
This era of Star Trek is so wild. Like, are we getting a comedic musical romp or are they going to show us graphic body horror? Coin flip every week

“Heading to the 1920s? Gonna kill Hitler?” Uh, sure, I reply as I cover up the portable DVD player I’m planning to use to show Rudyard Kipling TaleSpin.
After being sick with Covid for 2 weeks (1 with it, 1 with after-effects) I slept in until 2pm today. Got up, made fresh tortillas and chorizo breakfast tacos. Ate them with a fresh French press of black coffee as Daft Punk played on my Zune through my Y2K Panasonic stereo. Life is good again.
Next up in my radicalization: I’m canceling Instacart and returning to shopping for groceries in brick and mortar stores in-person. Goodbye, convenience mark-ups, dynamic pricing, and fees out the ass.🖕
Fauci: POTUS doesn’t care about the pandemic. He’s a rambling madman who knows nothing. Me: Yeah, man. You tell ‘em Fauci: Omg! Oprah knows my name now! Me: [covering mic and leaning over] Dude, you’re embarrassing us in front of the fascists

My wife and I are getting over COVID. We went 6 years without ever catching it. Hasn’t been fun, but it’s been akin to a middling flu. Survivable. No hospitalization. We avoided it for so long, and then survived it, because of the work of Dr. Anthony Fauci and every other public health expert. (1/2)
