Nothing to be proud of here...a Day of Shame for our UK, any Govt supporting this & an agency supposed to be representing Equality & Human Rights. Trans People were never a threat. Those seeking to remove Rights & exclude those who differ from them are. Not a debate just the latest move vs #ECHR.

Sometimes clearer is longer. Before "•Include your real full name (failure to do so may invalidate any later appeal)" After "•include your full, official name, for example the name on your birth certificate, passport or driver’s licence Not following these rules may mean you cannot appeal later."

My son was wearing a "Vote Reform" t-shirt and an "I love Nigel" baseball hat. He's been spat at, abused, slapped around the head and told he's a brainless twat. God knows what's going to happen to him once he gets out of the house...

I can’t believe we’re still having a debate about whether there’s a trade off between job creation and measures to green the economy. There isn’t. The evidence was clear years ago - a green economy creates far more jobs than the fossil fuel economy it replaces. Come on Labour, catch up …

Damaging new guidance from the EHRC will shut out Trans people from daily life simply for existing, and anyone who doesn't conform to narrow ideas of how people should look could face suspicion and confrontation. We are taking a stand against this attack on human rights.

Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

According to Luke Tryl on Radio 4 disillusioned Reform voters think Farage is “just the same as the rest” on the corruption front. But he isn’t is he? He’s exponentially worse. And his grifter tendency has been obvious for a very long time.

England and Wales just had their driest July in 190 years. Half of England is in drought. This isn't freak weather, it's the climate crisis arriving on our doorstep while ministers still hand out oil and gas approvals. Adaptation without ending fossil fuels is bailing out a sinking boat.

This country needs to: - Build reservoirs and a national grid for water (and renationalise all the water companies) - Massively upgrade the national grid for electricity to cope with variations from renewable sources - Give everyone 100% subsidies for air-to-air heat pumps

It's noticeable, too, that there wasn't a single question on the climate, at a time when Europe is experiencing catastrophic wild-fires & record-breaking heat. It's astonishing how low down the political agenda this remains in Britain, when all the environmental indicators are signalling disaster.

The world is on fire, yet still most of our political leaders doggedly defend business as usual, so emissions continue to rise, and nature to collapse. How can they keep up the pretence that driving us and nature off a cliff is 'acting responsibly'? www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...
