High-stakes exams are not a fair way of evaluating young people's ability. One bad day, an illness, or challenges beyond their control can ruin a year of work. Scottish Greens want to build a fairer, more modern system built around continuous assessment.

So disastrously irresponsible of this Labour leadership candidate. Any politician willing to promote burning more fossil fuels whilst Scotland is on fire, the UK is in drought and the just transition is starved of funding, is selling all our futures.

Nothing could be more damaging to our climate and the future of the North East than offering up even more of our North Sea to oil and gas giants. To create well-paid, long-term jobs in the North East and tackle the climate emergency, we must invest in renewables.

Scottish Labour leadership candidate backs North Sea jobs and calls for Rosebank and Jackdaw developments to be approved

Damaging new guidance from the EHRC will shut out Trans people from daily life simply for existing, and anyone who doesn't conform to narrow ideas of how people should look could face suspicion and confrontation. We are taking a stand against this attack on human rights.

Almost one year ago the Scottish Government supported Green proposals to boycott, divest from and sanction Israel. The vote passed in Parliament, a historic moment. So why have Ministers not done a single thing to implement it? www.thenational.scot/news/2642085...

Israel boycott failure 'undermining Scotland solidarity with Palestine', say Greens

THE Scottish Government's failure to implement a boycott of Israel is undermining its claims of solidarity with Palestine despite ministers…

We're glad that FIFA have scrapped their horrendous private investor sell-out plans. It's time to end corporate greed across football at every level of our game, because football belongs to the fans.

Scottish Greens: Football belongs to fans, not profiteers.

Last year, the Scottish Parliament voted for a Green proposal to boycott, divest from and sanction Israel. The SNP voted for our motion, but since then they have taken no action. It's time for the SNP to stand up to their "critical friends" and implement the boycott. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇵🇸

Scotland's beavers are back! 🦫 Scottish Greens introduced funding for reintroducing beavers to Scotland's countryside; now we are seeing these incredible animals restore rivers, reduce flooding, and rebuild ecosystems.

Wildfires are tearing through the Cairngorms, yet the Prime Minister wants to approve new climate-wrecking oil fields in the North Sea. It's time for Labour to listen to the science and block new fossil fuel licences.🚫🛢️

In May, Scotland elected a record number of Green MSPs. We're already getting to work. We've fixed unfair gaps in free childcare, fought back against mega AI data centres, and called for a ban on US military flights in Scotland. Join the movement today: greens.scot/join

The climate crisis is making extreme wildfire conditions more intense and more common, but our firefighting resources have not kept pace with the scale of the threat. To protect communities and nature, our governments must invest in better firefighting capability in Scotland.

Scotland stands with Palestine 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💚🇵🇸 Today I caught up with my friend Husam Zomlot, Palestinian ambassador to the UK. We discussed the need to uphold international law and take action against the UK companies, 'charities' & individuals complicit in Israel's illegal occupation of Palestine.

There can be no excuses for speaking at a fascist rally which brought racism, intimidation and even nazi salutes to our streets. We can not allow fascists any place in Scotland and they must be rejected by all parties.

An article in the National: Reform UK blasted for not sacking councillor who spoke at Glasgow 'fascist rally'

For the second time in as many months Nazis have rioted in Glasgow. They targeted anyone who isn't white, as well as those daring to stand up to them. Reform's Thomas Kerr claims 'Scotland is lawless'. So will he condemn the Reform councillor who spoke at this 'rally' with violent Nazis?

I joined the Stand up to Racism - Scotland rally today in Glasgow. Such important messages of unity in communities, about women's campaigns for justice and challenging austerity and billionaires, rather than any hatred of the people we share our places with.

Scotland's facing a wave of hyper-scale data centre applications. If built they'd consume more than 1.5 times our peak electricity use, with no requirement to assess their environmental impact. We need to ensure our economy works for everyone, not just tech billionaires. ➡️ greens.scot/datacentres

Police Scotland has declared a major incident and Nethy Bridge residents are being evacuated tonight as the Cairngorms wildfire spreads. I've written to the Cabinet Secretary asking what further support, including resilience and recovery arrangements, is now being put in place.

This is just a glimpse of what's to come without immediate action. It’s time to treat Scotland's wildfire risk as the national emergency it is. That means investing in prevention, early warning systems, and restoring the natural habitats that make our landscapes more resilient.

Dramatic pictures of the charred landscape taken by those fighting the fire have highlighted the scale of the damage caused by the inferno.

The call for interest in the former CCA building has been published. While it's open to bids to lease the building, it doesn't rule out sale to a private company for commercial use. That would be unacceptable. It must stay in public hands, as a culture space. greens.scot/news/former-...

Failed politicians shouldn't become unelected, unaccountable law makers for the rest of their lives. This is a fundamental principle of democracy. The House of Lords is a relic long past its sell by date.

Abolish the Lords. The words are over an image of Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar.
