Working on this was joyful: I'd long struggled to convey to students how cramped this deep, narrow stage would be with stage sitters. The little model (which you can print out yourself!) makes it possible to demonstrate exactly what the affordances and sightlines are and why Whitefriars is unusual.
Early modern theatre historians: this is a thing a student of mine made to help with understanding the affordances of the #Jacobean #Whitefriars 💥
This year the DH lab had the pleasure of collaborating with Professor @pascaleexeter.bsky.social on an exciting project exploring the staging possibilities of the Early Modern Whitefriars playhouse! #Digital #Humanities #DHLab #Interns #HASS #Internships #DigitalResearch #3D #3DPrint #3DPrinting

We were sad to hear of the death of #DavidHockney, perhaps the greatest #British post-war #artist. Hockney always linked art to cinema & ways of seeing, such as in the film about his life, 'A Bigger Splash', or his research on the optical aids of the old masters in his book 'Secret Knowledge'. #RIP
