Why should we compensate failing companies when they don't deliver the services we all rely on? They took the risk - they should pay the price.

The age of rail.... well in most places, just not the UK Tunnels!!!!! save all the planning objections and allow less weather related stoppages!

Graph showing The rising average bonnet height of newly-sold cars in Europe. The UK is in line with the rest of Europe in seeing it rise from 77cm in 2010 to 83-84cm in 2024.Infographic depicting the way in which higher bonnets create bigger blind spots. More high-fronted SUVs would mean more children drivers don't see.Graphic showing how higher bonnets more often knock pedestrians under the vehicle rather than deflect them.

The disgraceful history of what was known about the Fayeds – and by whom – has been assiduously documented by our courts, journalists, biographers, police, and in the heartbreaking testimony of victims. No One Above will be sharing more of what lies in plain sight. Thank you @sussexbylines.co.uk.

Who knew what, and when? Survivor accounts of trafficking in the #Harrods case are shocking. We publish the first part today of a 2-part piece listing the individuals and institutions who knew and did nothing. If #AndyBurnham becomes PM will he finally see justice done? @nooneaboveorg.bsky.social

Economists and Climatologists both agree, the more you do upfront the better the results. This thread is so important, detailing the important science and economics, of why Net Zero is important for us all Pretending otherwise is a distortion of the realistic, and sustainable, political choices

Except she's not, she's really not! 7 years ago Theresa May's Gov passed the net-zero target on the grounds that - "Significant developments in scientific knowledge about climate change" The science hasn't changed - the Tory party's grip on reality has! The USA shows us where this leads.

Before any of us criticises people attempting to migrate into Europe, legally or illegally, we should first ask ourselves: "What would I do to save myself and my family from poverty, injustice, ethnic cleansing, tribal violence, drought, wildfires, floods, deadly heat, terrorism and war?"

It is always about the efficiency of money movement into owners pockets. Part of the way to do that is to minimise tax payable, which requires profit to be moved to the lowest tax nations. Another reason why the UK taxation burden keeps moving down the pay scale.

Neoliberalism in a nutshell. UEFA on FIFA's proposal: “The moment external investors acquire ownership interests ... football changes forever. Commercial return becomes a permanent obligation. ... Every decision is no longer driven by what best serves the game, but by what best serves shareholders.”
