I back at least for a short while! Have been mostly on Twitter but wanted to see how things are going over here. I have Election Day anxiety over who will win California races. I've also been following the latest Graham Platner news.

Interesting in finding new ways of thinking about the world. Supporting progressive candidates because they are the future, if we want one. MA from @Georgetown @georgetownsfs. Still on Twitter at @DianaVGalbraith.
At the risk of wading in again, I cosign what @amandalitman.bsky.social posted on Twitter. Whatever you think of Graham Platner, the situation here is the fault of the Democratic establishment for working so hard to shut down a pipeline of young, fresh candidates. x.com/amandalitman...
I really am going to have to toot my own horn in order to earn money. I hate this
“It’s not just criminal, it’s also stupid” is basically the Trump administration’s motto
Over on the bad site, Rich Goldberg is hinting at striking civilian nuclear power plants. It's not just criminal, its also stupid.
I'm starting a chat group for women "of a certain age" to provide support and camaraderie as we navigate the bombs that middle age is throwing us. #MiddleAgeRiot
Who knows! Maybe peer reviewers have a better sense of humor than we give them credit for :-).
I mean, I guess this is an understandable explanation. But it didn’t raise red flags for legitimacy, peer review, etc?
Eid Mubarak! I hope everyone had a lovely Ramadan.
"Yoga pants empire" is a phrase that appeared in the NYT today.
Huge crowds today in Budapest, Hungary. They are calling for a new government under Peter Magyar and an end of Orban's rampant corruption. Source: P. Magyar
From an Instagram poet about a great show and a great character.
Just received the mail-in petition from “Californians for a More Transparent and Effective Government” and it took me exactly 3 minutes to find the initiative is being sponsored by Silicon Valley High-End Luxury real-estate investors wanting to prevent rent control.
Thoughts on last night's episode of "The Pitt"?
Sometimes it feels like I measure my life in google docs.
Is anyone else going to watch the new episode of "The Pitt" tonight?
There will be some silliness on my timeline, folks. Sorry to disappoint.
By season 9, all of the memorable characters have left "ER."
Iran is making it devastatingly obvious that Gaza was not a one-off.
In other silly news, there's an account on Instagram that features only owls in towels.
In other news, I've fallen down a rabbit hole of owl and raptor accounts on Instagram. One of the cheekier accounts, from Britain, features a "Most Difficult Bird of the Week" and a "Most Improved Bird of the Week."
I miss having a blog. I didn't have many followers but it was a fun creative project. My Twitter account is like a teeny tiny version of it (news, silly observations about life, wordplay, making fun of bad people, etc.). Complaints about aging are the newest iteration of my social media presence.
The conversations I overhear in the interns' room at the public defender's office are fascinating--snippets of court case proceedings, adventures with evidence collection, interviews with witnesses, requests for medical records, etc. It's like a parallel world in here.
Funny how ignoring unwanted work doesn't make it go away.
