What I find ominous about Vauban Books is not simply its decision to republish France’s most notorious authors, but the strategic care with which they have reframed them as neglected classics of political thought unjustly excluded from translation by a timid or ideological publishing establishment.
FWIW i read the Vauban edition of Camp of the Saints a few months ago and its extreme racism and its dehumanising black and brown people i found genuinely disgusting. Almost as bad, it's also absolutely garbage as a novel!
