The USS Abraham Lincoln is in its ninth month at sea, 208 days without a port visit, five straight months of combat operations. Moldy showers. No soap. Broken toilets. Crew members running on two days off in seven months. And the strain on service members and their families is building week by week.

The Bois Forte Band of Ojibwe is buying back its land by selling the carbon its forest stores. The approach is being called a model, even as some researchers question whether forest carbon credits deliver what carbon offsets promise.

A few of the ways the Trump administration’s actions are hurting people in Appalachia: ➡️ Propping up coal-fired power plants ➡️ Weakening environmental regulations for fossil fuel power plants ➡️ Stopping new renewable energy from coming online ➡️ Making energy more expensive

The Trump-Vance administration is pressing the gas pedal on fossil fuels and throwing up roadblocks for renewables. Congress should not enable it.

Given the Trump-Vance administration’s focus on fossil fuels, it’s clear that the projects expedited by changing the permitting process are virtually guaranteed to be for dirty energy.

The resistance has never been about fear or retaliation. It’s about standing up for one another and refusing to stay silent. We defend democracy, look out for our neighbors, and contribute to legal defense funds to help people facing cases like this.

The schools that stood up to Trump thug demands—first Wesleyan and Princeton, then Harvard, then many others who were emboldened—have won in court and earned honor in history and support from alums. Columbia showed that appeasement always loses. It's never enough. Don't do it, Yale.

Need to have some frank talk about #Yale President McInnis, General Counsel Alexander Dreier and the trustees. First, they keep saying that they are compelled to enter into a settlement with the #Trump administration. Untrue. 1/

The groundbreaking change isn't Trump The giant shift is in the way Congress reacts to appalling corruption Since the days of Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi Congress has been totally cool with MASSIVE conflicts of interest, bribes, obstruction of justice etc. This is brand new in U.S. history

Imagine [any other president] attempting this. There would have been bilateral demands for impeachment. www.npr.org/2026/08/01/n...

"I understand journalists want to be neutral. But if you're a journalist in the US, you have an obligation to be biased— in favor of democracy. And Trump is anti-democratic... The longer the press pretends that Trump is not an enemy of their profession, the more runway he has to undermine them."
