Rig finished🥳 I’ve added a couple of things, like eye switching via a controller or some extra controls for the feet. From now on comes the fun part: animating it and seeing how it behaves in the engine 😁 P.S: I’ve named it Torky 🤖

I’ve finally finished the model of my robot. I gave it an orange color that I think suits it really well. Honestly, I’m really proud of how it turned out. I never thought I’d be able to make a character like this☺️ It’s been a beautiful process, and now it’s time for the rig 🥳

I think making the hand has been the hardest part of the whole character. I had to iterate a lot to get something I was happy (thanks to my modeler friends who gave me great tips) 🙏 And with this I’d finally have the model finished, I'll upload another post with the full mesh ☺️

Arm time🦾 The hardest part here was shaping the forearm. The upper arm was just simple geometry with a few tweaks I felt more agile modeling this time, although I still find it difficult. My admiration to all modelers 🤌 Its almost done!

Foot done 🦾 For this it was easier for me to use the sculpting tools to shape it and then extrude. I separated the toe and the heel with the future rig in mind Now I just need to mirror the leg and he’ll be able to walk I really like how it’s turning out 😁

worked on the protective part of the lower leg. This piece has a slightly unusual shape and it took me a while to get it right, but I think it turned out well in the end. The leg is starting to take shape, now I just need to do the foot (I have a feeling that’ll be tricky) 🤖

Time to work on the legs. I followed the aesthetic of the chest and added protective pieces for the thigh and knee (those were the most complicated parts of it🤕) The joints are spheres, so later when I rig and animate it it’ll be easier 🤓

Busy days at work 😮‍💨 The back was looking a bit empty so I added this kind of backpack. The belt was harder than I expected, making holes in the mesh is more complicated than I thought 😅 I’m happy with how it’s turning out, I’m really excited to see it finished 🤖

Next part of the torso done. This part was a bit easier than the previous one. I started from basic shapes and shaped them the way I needed. For the abs I simply drew on the surface and extruded those areas I think I should optimize the mesh a bit more but for now it’s fine 🧐

Morning modeling: working on the chest piece. This will be a protective part that adds more texture/variation to the chest. I started from a smoothed cube, and even though shaping the mesh is complicated, I find it relaxing 😌

I wanted to learn the basics of modeling so I started a new project from scratch. My intention is to go through the entire process, from creating this character, to rigging, animation, and finally implementing it in Unreal with a small playable demo. Let’s see how far I can get 🤓

Last locomotion mechanic: Wall Jump⚡️ I had many issues implementing this, but after a lot of testing, I’d say I’ve got something solid to play with🤓 With this, I consider MegaMan’s locomotion finished, maybe it’s time to start working on combat...

Dash unlocked! I've been working in a dash move to my boy and I’m way too excited about it haha I made 2 versions depending whether you're crouching or not. Still playing around with how it links into other moves, but it's already feeling way better than walking everywhere 🤖
