ESPN certainly hopes so. Maybe one day those downtrodden Red Sox will win something!
@dicknixon.bsky.social Sir, do you think the Red Sox can run down both the Yankees and the Rays and take the AL East?
What Moreno in fact said was that a staffer signed him up as a prank - using Moreno's private email address. The staffer took the fall.
Moreno said a friend of his signed him up for it as a prank.
El-Sayed seems a fair talent. There remains a significant anti-Muslim faction. Stevens walking head first into Israel didn’t help her. The polls are screwed, but I would imagine a portion of her votes were tactical. Tight or not, the move against regular Democrats cannot be ignored.
Arraez was very happy after last night's game. He said it was better to be on the right end of Phillies fans. He was touched by the ovation; he said he wanted to give it right back to the fans and show the players who he is. And he doesn't care where he bats. "Put me in ninth. I don't care."
Arraez (wearing a red shirt) was buttonholed by John Clark of NBC at the airport. He was clearly tired and didn’t feel like talking, but he gave a friendly and professional interview. He really perked up when Clark mentioned second base, though. “A lot of respect,” he said. “Especially from Harper.”
Miller is threatening to expose Bernie Moreno as gay. I'm not saying he is gay.
From anyone else I wouldn’t take it, but Kruk lived with Gwynn in the minor leagues. They were close friends, and he credits his lifetime .300 average from having watched Gwynn closely. Gwynn is Gwynn. Kruk is talking about the mind, approach.
Kruk keeps saying Arraez is Tony Gwynn and this is an absolutely ridiculous comparison
Both Ryan and Jackson are athletes who seem they shouldn't exist, and Southern gentlemen straight out of storybooks.
Sir, is it appropriate that I consider this one of my happiest baseball memories? I'm not even a fan of the Rangers or the White Sox but I have the utmost respect for Lynn Nolan Ryan, Jr. and Vincent "Bo" Jackson.
Just say no. Say no. You say no. That's all you say. "No." Jesus Christ.
Francesca Hong was asked last night by Kaitlin Collins if she still believes Thanksgiving should be canceled. Her answer was not 'no.'
Anniversary of Ryan vs. Ventura. I think it's appropriate to frame as a boxing match. You have to remember that by '93 Ryan was an excellent control pitcher. He still had the heat but he cut his walks by a lot. Generally he put the ball where he wanted. This included coming inside.
Regarding our statement that the next six years are the "final" chance to outrun the far right before someone smarter takes hold. Nothing is final, but the first politician who spends money and acknowledges that government can help people will set the tone for a generation or more. The cultural -
Sir, have you not said elsewhere that nothing is ever final? I share your sense that this time may actually be, but it is still a large statement. May we have your reasons? They are not likely to be mine, or anyone else's.

As a northern Illinois resident, I don't have a high opinion of Wisconsin at all; I'm telling you, Bryant's has the goods.
If you've been in the service you know that abroad a restaurant is often the front room of someone's house. The grandmother cooks; you're a guest of the family. Three Brothers in Milwaukee feels like that. The building is a beautiful old Schlitz tied house that the family has tended since the 50s.
The last time I was there, we'd just finished an indulgent group dinner at the Serbian masterpiece Three Brothers in Bay View. My friend was entertaining guests from out of town, special occasion. I had a Little Giuseppe. Others ordered by mood. Conversation flowed, memories were made.
St. Louis is dumping salaries ahead of free agency. Nootbaar is a good, versatile roleplayer. I like how much he walks. In May and Romero the Brewers needed bullpen help, and they got it.
Do you have an opinion on the Cardinals getting rid of JoJo Romero & Lars Nootbaar?
Bryant's in Milwaukee might be the best cocktail bar in the world.
Dodgers, Rams and Lakers draw guys b/cbeing rich in Milwaukee ain't all that...
Two elections, three justices on the Court and so forth. But it has failed because it didn't consolidate power. It's purely their fault. Had they spent money and not tried to blow up the government they could've had 20-30 years. The sentiments and factions it harnessed still exist. Therefore -
Something I think that underlies a lot of debates within the Democratic party and center-left right now is whether or not you think Trumpism has been successful as a political and ideological project. (Not, obviously, whether it's been good or not).
Hill has been around the block. He's a nice fellow. He plainly likes playing for the Phillies and it seems like they coach him well. I'm happy for him. He seems determined to make the most of what time he has.
Friend of the shop Derek Hill. Incredible.
You are better with Arraez no matter who you are. A guy who never strikes out makes a lot of sense around a bunch of strikeout-heavy sluggers. But now you're better in right, worse at first and second, a question at third, and have a big hole at short. Raley doesn't impress me. I don't know -
Did the Phillies do enough to compete, sir?
I have heard Milwaukee made Skubal a highly respectable offer. I think it comes down to him wanting to play there and knowing the Dodgers will pay him next year.
Wrote about how dumb is was for the Brewers to not outbid the Dodgers for Tarik Skubal: open.substack.com/pub/mollykni...
Her batting average was always good, it's improved substantially, but she is overmatched here. She should've been better prepared.
There is pervasive corruption across our healthcare and agricultural systems that defy party lines. I meet with MAHA activists because a lot of their concerns are bipartisan issues that major corporations paint as partisan. The fight isn't left and right, it's top and bottom.
Cashman at this point acts like an emeritus professor who lost his marbles years ago but still insists on going to campus.
Sir, are the Yankees saying they believe that Judge is not coming back this season? They did not address their screaming need at the catcher position.
He is talented. I told him to move to New Jersey, get himself a television show. Kim has that seat now. He is not going to be president.
Buttigieg also mentioned that being a father this time around will factor into his decision.
When Raley was with the Mets he said his favorite part of New York was “Long Island.”
Brooks Raley to Phillies
There are a lot of reasons not to like the kid. Here is another one. A good way to judge a really stupid baseball person is if they argue Ruth wouldn’t be much today.
just woke up to the Jays are buying at the deadline and Pete Crow-Armstrong thinks Babe Ruth was made-up
Calling Talarico a sissy and so forth never made sense, because it turns out the people Paxton already has. The concern is the middle class, and he looks and acts like a school principal or young pastor, that sort of thing.
The movement is already breaking into pieces. Murdoch can make sure it breaks faster.
Sir, does he still have the juice for it to matter?
