By almost any measure Dolly embodied "the American Dream." Some people will come from nothing and make it big and consider the problem now solved. Others will remember that there are still others with nothing and use what they have to help.

Watching reactions to the Slate truck has been... weird. I didn't expect people to completely forget the lower cost of ownership angle to electric vehicles so quickly but they apparently have. Many comparisons between it and Ford's current Maverick on purchase price and nothing else! The fuck!

Games Done Quick is such an unfettered source of pure good, distilled into the most concentrated essence. A motivating beacon for people to show the power of coming together and rallying around an important cause. A powerful moment that underscores the desire to help in all of us. GDQ forever.

In one week this incredible culmination of a story that has changed my life will be out in the world. I started working for the McElroys just a few months before the first book came out, and holding this beast in my hands is making me teary eyed, which I know will only get worse as I read it.

This is also why, say, they don't immediately start working on a new Pikmin. Because the dude who does the 3D modeling of the items is currently working on like Mario Kart. And keeping all those people employed feels more important than putting out a new Pikmin.
