Watching reactions to the Slate truck has been... weird. I didn't expect people to completely forget the lower cost of ownership angle to electric vehicles so quickly but they apparently have. Many comparisons between it and Ford's current Maverick on purchase price and nothing else! The fuck!

Games Done Quick is such an unfettered source of pure good, distilled into the most concentrated essence. A motivating beacon for people to show the power of coming together and rallying around an important cause. A powerful moment that underscores the desire to help in all of us. GDQ forever.
While I finished drafting the Actual Play book all I had time for with my new TTRPG group was one-shots, preferably no-prep and/or GMless. I documented what we learned along the way, and will continue to do so when I recruit new folks in DC this fall.

I think we should hold one-shots in higher regard compared to campaigns and normalise just playing a short 2 hour game with a start and end like you would a boardgame
In one week this incredible culmination of a story that has changed my life will be out in the world. I started working for the McElroys just a few months before the first book came out, and holding this beast in my hands is making me teary eyed, which I know will only get worse as I read it.
Referring to Pope Leo as "Our Emotional Support Augustinian" is perfect lol
we are all waiting for our Emotional Support Augustinian to finish his breakfast cappucino in the Vatican dining room and start spitting bars
This is also why, say, they don't immediately start working on a new Pikmin. Because the dude who does the 3D modeling of the items is currently working on like Mario Kart. And keeping all those people employed feels more important than putting out a new Pikmin.
You know what Nintendo does when they have a surplus set of devs from cancellations or production ending? Put them on other projects. The ability to redeploy headcount while keeping teams together over time is like, the main strategic benefit of scale in the game industry

YouTube recommended an old Brotherhood 2.0 video and my husband is for some reason surprised that I was able to sing along to the entirety of the @hankgreen.bsky.social's Helen Hunt song
Algae are prolific producers of oxygen (and consumers of carbon dioxide), en masse producing a huge proportion of the oxygen we breathe, which means that the greening of the Reflecting Pool might be the most pro-climate thing Trump has ever done.
Celebrate and share BIPOC joy as much as/even more so than the call out posts or trauma posts. Please, I beg of you 🙏🏾
bankrupt them, then for too long we've fined a company ten million dollars for a crime that earned them 500 million dollars, and that's why they don't learn and don't stop
Millions of copyrighted songs were fed to AI music generators - now there's proof Suno and rivals are being sued for $150k per song. A sum that would bankrupt these companies and set an important precedent.

This video from @hankgreen.bsky.social puts into words so many of the reasons I don't want to make our shows video-first podcasts. I know it comes from a place of privilege, but I truly believe audio podcasts are a special thing that should be valued and protected

One of the more misogynistic takes currently trending in the AI policy space is "women use less AI than men because they have less tech literacy" Ok but have you considered that women use less AI than men because we have more tech literacy?
We need to go back to basics. Less genAI more cheese.
Indeed. Indeeed.

There should be a Star Trek movie every two years and they should have indie film budgets and no explosions and almost everyone should hate them.
