In the early 2000s, Nintendo and Dr. Pepper partnered on Donkey Pepper, an ad campaign combining DK with the popular soda. It would later spawn a Dr. Pepper X Nintendo site. The partnership came to a close in 2005 when the Donkey Facts section leaked a DKC game for Nokia phones.

Van Gogh spent a lot of time in Arles, France. There's a restaurant that used to be a hotel where Van Gogh stayed and in a letter he wrote that the food was bad and they overcharged him for wine. Directly next door, sharing a wall, is this Dragonball-themed barbershop.

What do Undertale and thermonuclear war have to do with each other? When you're riding with Auntie Nadia, *everything!* Here's another excerpt from my upcoming book, From Pixels to Prose: What Video Games Taught Me About Storytelling.

If you haven’t played Undertale, I recommend getting it on the PC, the platform it was originally built for. It plays some pretty haunting tricks with save files, game “crashes,” and other shenanigans that are chilling if you have a deep-seated fear of technology yanking control from humanity’s hands. Maybe I’m just a little scaredy-baby, but I find something inherently creepy about the sounds and sights of ’80s–’90s technology breaking down. Back in the day, computers didn’t give us twee “Oh no!” messages when they encountered a problem. They just shit themselves and left behind frozen screens, blaring static, or angry buzzing. By 1992, my NES had a 50–50 chance of interrupting my Super Mario Bros. 3 playthrough with a digital scream that froze Mario as a mishmash of red pixels and brown numbers. That’s a lot to live with, and I’m from the generation that endured the television going “eeeeeeeeeeee” at us during commercial breaks for “She-Ra” because, you know, someone might hit Da Button that ignites thermonuclear war. Don’t worry, though. This is only a test.

just saw the mario galaxy movie! I had a fun time with it, but like the first movie it definitely could've benefited from an extra 30 minutes in the middle. also there's a couple sections that I could do without. really dug the stuff they did with Rosalina tho!

this is run by a publisher called indie . io (no spaces but I don't want it to be a link) anyways if you google them you'll find they're basically already a scam (they do marketing for you and in return they demand a 50/50 revenue split) just buy the games although the devs already make very little
