I am beyond grateful to BARS for supporting my work on the transatlantic reception of the British early evangelical novel! This award will fund archival research at Penn and Princeton, where I will examine American editions of once best-selling novels and their reception within a republican context.

Little mouse slow to talk, hypervigilant for good reason, loved carefully until she found a safe person to be reckless with, helicopter parent of a chess fiend, author of complicated love stories with violence & wit Austen didn’t dare.
