One of the less remarked-upon aspects of atheism is how it changes the way you see sunsets. If you believe in an omnipresent God, then sunsets are one of God's intentional creations, which means that the beautiful colors refracting through the darkling sky were *chosen* to produce that effect.

Sitting outside writing, watching hummingbirds. I held out my finger as one flew close to me. It contemplated landing I think until another came by to cause trouble. Even if it didn't land I'm counting it as a win today and a wish for another day.

This one in the front did not stop staring at me, so I made the very sensible decision to turn around. I don't want them bothered eating as they have to fatten up for the winter. My bright Blytheville Book Company tshirt certainly made me noticable.

Lady at TJ Maxx comments: "Towel colors make me dizzy." Me: "The brown bath towels are nice." Her: "Oh, you're one of those." ??? That was after I saw a large crow atop a telephone pole staring at the fl*ck camera across the road. Clearly an afternoon mood's developing.
