My take. When I was a special ed para nearly 10 years ago, I made $14 an hour. Some lived on that pay. Lead sped teacher made under 50k. We gotta take "they love their kids, that's why they do it" out of the payroll process. They should've 0'ed out 2020 and redone the whole year for all kids in '21.

It makes clear that worries about the teacher shortage, downplayed by contrarians, were and are warranted. Importantly, it raises a largely ignored factor affecting student mental health, behavior, and academic success.
I'd be a rum runner/tiling the Detroit Windsor tunnel, or working at a stationery store. Farming, or violin making on the other side.

Writing on the deck, and this happens. Guess they have to keep the nest clean somehow.
There are rats up for adoption at the local animal shelter. Their names are Hemlocke, and Warlocke. (The e to be fancy I assume.) I wish them all the adventures. Also Butterfinger and Milky Way. Very pleased rats get named well.
Generally, subject, then alphabetized by author, and then within order of publication. New books stay in a holding position in piles somewhere in the house til we can find room. I read off the new piles, even though other unread books have been shelved and lost to the ages. My reading quandary.

Gotta say, when you haven't read you wip novel in months because you were letting it simmer, and it was being read by an editor, and then you finally read it again, using their helpful advice, it feels new. I've added more notations on 4 pages than I have in years.
The cute for today, if nothing else shows up in my yard. I'd post the baby robin, I've named it Screamer, because all day long it's screaming for mom. The sibling sits quietly in the heat, not screaming. LOL
Keep your books, every single last one of them. They are good insulation if nothing else, and given in the coming years we are going to need excellent insulation.

Yes. The winter snowshoe hare's as frightening as any animal in the wild. You only see their eyes, the rest of them blend into the snow. They move forward with no fear, standing their snowy ground, owning every inch of it. I've got a photo of a pack of them, you can't see any. Winnipeg streets.

I've never felt such a difference between a book and tv show, as Wool, and the tv show, Silo, which I watched when it was first released. Started reading Wool yesterday and didn't even realize it was the same for several chapters. Totally different vibe. Will do a rewatch after finishing the book.
You'd think Verizon would use some of its $30 billion! in profits this quarter! to make sure its service in Europe actually works. Day 3. Intermittently intermittent now, so I guess that's a win.
When Belgium celebrated their independence today, two Belgium soldiers helped us get to the train station. File under Adventures in Brussels. He'd been up/on duty near the Royal Place since 3 am. Crowds were such we got stuck on a staircase nearby and retreated, thereby saved by Belgium soldiers.

Just went out to check the stars, as one does, and there were at least 8 fireflies flitting about. There is much flitting over my deck. The robin is in for the night. Second batch, clutch, this summer, not sure of the term.
