I love when fantasy series have a dude called something like Stephen the All-Seeing, Keeper of the Demon Sword, hero of the Volcano Age. But in some tiny village, he's known as Bees Steve, that weird guy who loves beekeeping. The more uppercase titles the legend has, the funnier the contrast is.

the abortion comment is 100% accurate. The vast majority of anti-abortion types--I know, I grew up with anti-abortion people who sometimes went to rallies and stuff and knew more aggressive anti-abortion activists--believe that abortion is simply baby murder. This is their #1 driving belief.

jon ronson has written a book about men who go crazy online and he's dedicated an entire chapter to graham linehan. graham is not going to like the observer review.

Ronson’s account of Graham Linehan is another harrowing tale of a man’s life ruined by the internet. Linehan was a beloved comedy writer, co-creator of Father Ted, and a prolific presence on Twitter, where he was well liked and respected. Then, in 2013, something began to shift, when an episode of his sitcom The IT Crowd, first broadcast in 2008, was repeated. In it, a man discovers his girlfriend is transgender and a brawl breaks out between the two. Viewers did not like the display of violence nor the supposed implication that the trans woman was “really” a man, underlying maleness bursting forth uncontrollably once she is angry. Linehan responded to criticism with polite bafflement, then defensiveness, and finally overt anger. He began to research transgender issues and developed a singular obsession with the topic, which has since gone on to comprehensively destroy his career and personal life. Linehan, who believes trans activism and indeed ordinary trans existence pose an existential threat to women, talks of little else (except, these days, a fervent pro-Israel stance). He tweets near-constantly, cloaking his obsession with supposed concern for the wellbeing of cisgender women, but he does not balk at aggressively insulting those women who disagree with him.

you need to properly treat this like its work. Put an interesting video on to listen to while you're drawing. You're only hurting yourself by avoiding it, it's time to recognize that it isn't a hobby when you took someone else's money for it. They worked hard for that too.

Look idk who needs to hear this cause I've seen alot of artists over the years dig this exact hole, but you need to finish your commissions. A percentage of your clients are going to be repeat commissioners. Another percentage of your clients heard about you from word of mouth. 🧵
