Those are people who are burning. Mothers, fathers, grandparents, children, and babies. People whose homes & lives were already destroyed, often multiple times, and who’ve endured worse suffering and indignities than most of us could ever imagine, let alone bear. This is Israel’s legacy.

It is never used to refer to violence normalized under capitalism, which includes police violence, people being evicted from their homes, people dying bc they are denied medical care or housing, people being shot by the police, or state-sanctioned genocide.

Moments like this should be shared as widely as the terrifying shit. Not because they’re proof we have nothing to worry about. Because they indicate that he cannot in fact do whatever he wants, whenever he wants to. Recognize people who are doing their jobs rather than following his whims.
