Out in the foggy side of San Francisco 🌁

The Sunset Dunes opponents can learn a lesson here. People complained bitterly about tearing down the Embarcadero Freeway, but it turned out to be a great decision and opened up our thriving waterfront. www.sfchronicle.com/totalsf/arti...

The thriving Embarcadero is thanks to this S.F. mayor. It cost him reelection

Razing an ugly freeway and freeing the Embarcadero likely cost this San Francisco mayor his second term. We asked if he would do it again.

Little B is sick today but feels fine, so we're doing some social distancing outdoor time at JFK Promenade and Sunset Dunes. Feeling so grateful for these peaceful, beautiful spaces where we can get our zoomies out and have a joyful Thursday sick day.

Flock Safety cameras are tracking and sharing our data without a warrant, but local communities across the U.S. are fighting and winning against this gross privacy violation. Get involved in the nationwide movement to say Get the Flock Out at aclu.org/gtfo_

Gray graphic reading "Flock is tracking our movements and putting this information in a nationwide database that can be accessed by police officers and ICE agents." There are collaged images of police officers, ICE agents, and surveillance cameras at the bottom of the graphic.

The title of the petition is misleading "The Great Highway for Everyone Act, Restoring Balanced Access to Parks and Safer Transit", I don't understand how closing a park gives balanced access to parks and safer traffic. That said Sunset Dunes is an amazing thing for the neighborhood.

The never-ending battle over the Great Highway continues. Supporters of Sunset Dunes are suing to block a ballot measure that would reopen the road to weekday traffic. missionlocal.org/2026/06/grea...

🎂 Happy First Birthday to Sunset Dunes! One year in: 📈 1.7M total visits, 39,000 avg weekly visits 🛒 Revenue increases of up to 44% at local businesses 🚗 Crashes are down in the neighborhood And so much more! Thank you for making the park’s first year so successful! We’re just getting started.

also deprives all of us of the ability to plan an actual future park I'd far rather be spending my 2026 getting cool new stuff for Sunset Dunes than marshaling the tens of thousands of person-hours it will take to relitigate the existence of the park for the third time please, I am very tired.

you can't have a governable city if you're just constantly re-litigating major infrastructure decisions made by voters. it's just complete chaos, ensures continued acrimony, and deprives businesses and families of the ability to plan. it's a fundamentally unserious *and undemocratic* way to exist.
