When the Gatlinburg Wildfires happened in 2016, Dolly gave impacted families $1,000/month to help them get back on their feet. This included my father-in-law, who lost everything in the fire. Dolly gave children in TN free books each month, from birth to the age of five. She was a goddamn saint.
A brilliant writer. Had the sweetest voice. Her humor was original, kind, unfailing. Gave away >300 million books to kids. Funded covid & cancer research. Loved with generosity and a twinkle in her eye. The family asks for donations to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library: www.imaginationlibrary.com

Perry@lollardfish.bsky.social · 2y agoIn late 2016 and early 2017 many elected Democrats were ready to roll over and reach across the aisle and seek bipartisan cooperation and do all the other bullshit that we are seeing right now. They had to be taught that resisting Trumpism comes with electoral benefits.
Sarah McBride has more class, generosity, and courage than the lot of them. Brava.
