There is such an obsession with eating protein… I looked up what I should eat (a short, but well rounded woman in 40s). It’s like - 2 eggs, a pot of yogurt, and a flat white. And maybe throwing in a bit of cheese.

The Great Mughals: Art, Architecture and Opulence - fantastic!!! Ends in a couple of days, and is very crowded. But such beautiful art. Have drunk the kool aid, want to be ruled by emperors… who invest in diverse art, from divers backgrounds.
On this Labour Day… I definitely need work. Pls hire me [sending manifesting vibes] - for freelance work. Writing, editing, anything… dear god the rise in household bills is wild!

Watching Call the Midwife. To me, this tv is enormous! (I don’t have a tv). And the sunset is sooooo lovely! And puzzle started today
In Aotearoa, watching scheduled tv (is that what’s it’s called?!) with ads and it means I’m googling a ton of things… I’m so out of the loop of popular culture.
She has just recommended that if you get stage fright, to find a friendly face in the audience… this Xmas film is excellent, and not grounded in reality. Perfect.
Today I go into the studio and record the audio version of my book! I spent the weekend in Berlin and didn’t lose my voice! Of course I’ve had the worst night sleep back in my own bed. Ffs.
All of this, and my 2cents - social media has also been a place for me to find people who write etc on things I’m interested in, who I didn’t (couldn’t!) find through mainstream media - those of marginalised backgrounds eg. So not echo chamber, but like a library build for my tastes.

If I want to challenge my own ideas, I read serious journalism or books.

Apparently my top genre is Outlaw Country, yep there definitely was a lot of Black Sabbath (the top two was sad cowboy music, too embarrassed to share) and this is where I should live. I’m a middle-aged white dad, trapped in a small Asian woman’s body. Ffs.
