The best thing about the new TED LASSO? It's not trying to be the old TED LASSO. Ted is good, Ted is stable, and that leaves lots of room for other, very charming new characters to take the spotlight. My review at @looperhq.bsky.social:

Ted Lasso Season 4 Review: A Welcome, If Uneven, Return - Looper
Aside from a few small stumbles, "Ted Lasso" Season 4 proves the show hasn't lost any of its charm or ensemble energy.

Reviewed Riley Sager's THE UNKNOWN, a rarity among his books in that it didn't really work for me, at @bloody-disgusting.com.
'The Unknown' Book Review: Riley Sager's Latest Twists Itself Into Too Many Knots
Let's be clear about something right up front: Riley Sager is a damn good thriller writer. His books, and I've enjoyed many of them, are twisted puzzle

At one point the essay in question argues that we should all put our divisions aside and band together against the oligarchs controlling everything by...using the AI products created by said oligarchs! It's nonsense, I'm disappointed in the HWA for platforming it, and I'm glad Chuck wrote this.
Professional writer organizations should not send out pro-AI propaganda in the form of tantrum-having "essays" to their members, and I don't think that's controversial.
NEW EPISODE! @paultremblay.bsky.social returns to the show to talk about his new book DEAD BUT DREAMING OF ELECTRIC SHEEP, and we dig into the weird worlds of Shirley Jackson with a discussion of her story "The Intoxicated." Listen Now!:

An #IceAge masterpiece: This small carving (4.7cm) of a water #bird was made from mammoth ivory some 40,000 years ago. It's thought to be a #diver, #cormorant, or #duck. Found in the Hohle Fels cave on the Swabian Jura. It's the oldest known representation of a bird. 🧵1/2
BABYLON 5 is both incredible serialized TV and completely fucking bonkers. Go watch it.
Hey, you ever heard me (constantly) going on about Babylon 5? It's starting to air, in its entirety, on YouTube.
Wrote a thing that required me to look back at the entire 2026 NFL Draft class today, and I was reminded of an amazing Type of Dude. Y'all, meet newly-minted Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman GENNINGS DUNKER.
Bumping this again. Hope to see y'all out there, and even if you can't make it, signal boosts are super appreciated.

Saw a landscaper doing a perfect leaf blowing job while simultaneously steering a standing riding mower around today with Textbook Precision at high speed. There is no such thing as unskilled labor.
This is my first-ever livestreamed show, and I really want it to work out so we can do MORE livestreamed shows! Hope to see a lot of y'all in the chat Thursday night. And if you can't make it, shares are VERY much appreciated!

I haven't liked a Refn film in quite a long time, but I loved HER PRIVATE HELL, and I tried to figure out why. The film is a fantasy of busted binaries, and characters whose sexuality, gender identity, kinks, and persona are in a state of symbolic impermanence. www.patreon.com/willowcately...

In fifth grade I was nuts for HAPPY DAYS and I'd go to school and make Fonzie references and everyone looked at me like I was insane (except the teachers). Also I will still talk your ear off about the giant spider episode of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND.
the popularity of Nick @ Nite was really funny because you’d be in high school in 2008 with friends who were longtime fans of The Golden Girls

At @bloody-disgusting.com today, I reviewed THE PERIL AT PINCER POINT out of Fantasia Fest, a handmade, darkly hilarious love letter to Roger Corman that's genuinely one of the most invigorating and imaginative things I've seen all year.
‘The Peril at Pincer Point’ Review: Gorgeous, Handmade Horror-Comedy [Fantasia 2026]
The Peril at Pincer Point, written and directed by Noah Stratton-Twine and Jake Kuhn, is dedicated more than once to the late, great King of Exploitation Cinema, Roger Corman. In some ways, the reason...

Me when my son calls every rat he sees on TV "Ratatouille" because he loves that movie: Aw, that's cute. Me when my son calls Rizzo the Rat "Ratatouille": Don't you DARE disrespect Charles Dickens' best friend like that!
Yeah I hate it when my taxes pay for streets I might never drive on or streetlights I might never stand under or schools my kids might never attend. And don't get me STARTED on pipes full of water I might never personally drink.
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
