(🧵) I’ve never—in 30 years in journalism—published a report like this: one that could genuinely bring hope. I spent the last 15 hours curating and labeling photos from hundreds of No Kings Day protests. It’s the largest archive of its kind and it has *lots* of Easter eggs (memes, an essay and more).
Over 250 Photos From Around the Nation and the World From the Historic “No Kings Day” Protests
Almost no one showed up to Donald Trump’s surprisingly timid, depressing, and generally lackluster birthday party in Washington, but protests against him were bursting at the seams across the globe.

The Fault Lines in Our Constitution should be read by every single adult who lives in America. And then we need to meet in small book clubs to discuss it. With cookies. And soothing beverages. This book is EVERYTHING. @msnbc.com @velshimsnbc.bsky.social @velshi.com
3rd editions rarely get reviewed. But Booklist gave #FAULTLINESINTHECONSTITUTION a star! "The Levinsons prove once again that an examination of the Constitution is always timely and relevant." @PeachtreePub #Constitution #ConstitutionalCrisis #kidlit www.booklistonline.com/products/980...

Independent Bookstore Day has been an established event for...years. It's dirty pool that the big booksellers are hosting their sales events over the same weekend. #shopindie They need us way more than the billionaires do.
Tyrants view educated citizens as their greatest enemy. Slaveholders stopped the enslaved from learning to read. Nazis burned books. Dictators censor media. That’s why Trump is attacking education, science, museums, and the arts – to prevent us from learning. It's Fascism 101.
Book friends! Would you please tell me about your favorite new MG novels (published in 2024 or 2025) that are written in verse and/or a multi-modal format? I'll get to see a few thousand kids on book tour for THE TROUBLE WITH HEROES this spring so I'm making a list of read-alikes to share!

Some people think when I say “nobody cares about your word count if your book is great” that I’m advocating for Going Buck Wild and writing ten million page books. Nope! In fact, there are norms. Just stay within them and don’t *freak out* 😀 Here: literaticat.blogspot.com/2011/05/word...

100000000% THIS Remember Mitch McConnell's strategy was to use unchallenged seats on school boards, city councils, etc to build a foundation of extreme right-wing power. Progressives need to do the same. This is why I donate to @runforsomething.net monthly. If you're willing, they'll help you run.
It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
Totally thrilled by this review - first time in the Horn Book after all these years!

For the folks who were asking what Broken Dolls was about:
HERE IT IS! BROKEN DOLLS COMING SEPTEMBER 2025 That quote had me in literal tears. Share and you're in the drawing for copies of all three books.
The artist does get paid, apparently, but this creates huge environmental waste, undercuts the real work of the artists themselves, and -- most immediately -- has made me vow never to work with this agency, and to unsubscribe from their e-mails.
