Return to Silent Hill wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't Silent Hill 2. It needed about another hour so it could have been a proper adaptation without the weird changes. And quiet moments that allowed you to process what was going on like the first movie. It was too action not enough horror.
Hot Take: Pyramid Head was put in the exact right spots in the first Silent Hill movies and it worked perfectly woth the lore of the games.

Les Mis is an amazing book and movie because it explores the Sins of Man through redemption, Grace and unforgiven legalism and mercy. Each character has a Sin they either actively embrace (Thénardiers), seek redemption for (ValJean, Fantine), or don't realize until their end (Javert, Éponine)
