For all that both my parents were sexist, they were literally and classically informed.

UK cisgender feminist. Fuck TERFs and transphobia.
Bridget Phillipson confirmed she will implement the Code despite 166 MPs signing an Early Day Motion opposing it.
I'm so tired of people that were never bullied nerds at school suddenly pretending to care about Greek myths and historical accuracy because some random internet person has told them this is the end of society!!!
Someone said to me, "I'm sorry but I got your book from a library." Nobody should ever apologise for that. You read my book! That's brilliant! I grew up hanging out in libraries and the idea of a world without them fills me with dread. Without libraries, authors, like readers, will only suffer.
A clear explanation of why some "legality" tests catch legal cycles, upon which many Disabled people rely. We're delighted to be working with forces and training providers to solve this problem while helping address the danger caused by illegal e-motorbikes shorturl.at/9roas
Birmingham man's legal e-bike seized and destroyed by police in error
The BBC finds the bike was legal and supplied as part of a scheme to reduce pollution in the city.

So hey queer uk peeps. I'm a terrible person. But i'm good at career advice, CVs, cats, books and clothes. If you need help ask me.
It sucks but I am happy to provide advice. Got my dream job after a year of nothing.
Applying to jobs right now feels like such a futile effort. Half never give updates, and the other half are rejections. Seriously we need some kind of UBI or equivilent, cause you can't just let unemployment climb without a safety net.
One thing's that's funny and awful is that earlier this year, I booked to see queer pro trans comedian Sam Morrison - and I had to eat the cost of the ticket because hostels will no longer rent to women without photo ID.
This is an appalling lack of judgement and the surest sign yet that Britain will continue to be Trump's lackey. The war in Iran has cost countless lives, and breached international law - yet we continue to support it. Very, very concerning. Very, very continuity Starmer.

White middle class ladies with no minoritised pals: “they really did Bridget dirty by taking away her SoS role and just leaving her with this one”
9. And now the country that pioneered gender-affirming care for trans youth has reviewed the care and found yet again that it gives those youth the greatest chance to thrive.
1. In an incredible new landmark review, the Health Council of the Netherlands has declared that gender-affirming care for trans youth works, reducing wait times is "morally urgent," and regret is rare. It is the latest of many Euro countries to advance care. Subscribe to support our journalism.
Landmark Official Dutch Review Recommends Trans Youth Care, Call For Expanding Treatment
The review finds that wait times must be shortened, that few people detransition, and that trans youth care has enormous benefits.

Andy Burnham is bringing fresh blood into his cabinet. Wes Streeting prefers it to coffee, apparently.
So 167 MPs signed the EDM disapproving the latest EHRC guidance. As of today, the EDM 603, the motion to condemn Amnesty International for calling transphobic groups 'anti-rights' is still stuck on 6 total. Yet this guidance will be forced into our lives without any vote or approval.
This is what happened at our local women's festival (Dundee). GCs demanded an event, organisers said no. GCs threatened to sue, organisers caved. Lots of folks unhappy on both sides. Festival then closed down because volunteers couldn't be fucked with it. Well done "feminists"!
Particularly via tribunal. I don't think GCs have grasped that even if they force compensation or keep their job, they can't force their boss & colleagues to like and respect them. You think you're getting the good projects? Getting promoted? Getting any payrise over COL? Dream on.
Shocking antics from them. TERFs behave very oddly. They know that almost everyone despises them, but it’s as though they want to force their toxic presence on the rest of us, whether we like it or not. They have zero self awareness.
This is so fucking stupid. Why does anyone - including @andyburnham.bsky.social - think this kafkaesque mess is better than just telling transphobes to fuck off and get over themselves?
What a stupid, pointless mess we're in Government departments must compulsorily humiliate their trans employees, and only their trans employees, whilst not outing them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ metro.co.uk/2026/07/21/t...
Also... I watched those films for Loki.
If there's a problem with Thor: Ragnarok, then - as you can hear me and @brokenbottleboy.bsky.social discussing here - it's that if you set yourself a bar that high it's only going to lead to problems, especially if you try to match it by just repeating it... timworthington.org/2022/11/16/i...
Every now and then, it’s worth saying what ought to be obvious: trans people have always existed, and will exist as long as humans do. They’ve not done anything wrong by wanting their existence recognised, supported, and celebrated. The transformation of their existence into “an issue” is evil.
Interesting list of Ministerial appointments by new UK PM. Starmerites recycled though some leading lights sidelined. Absence of anyone from the left. Cabinet may remain an echo chamber, as under Starmer, which led to many poor policy choices. Rebellions may be the only way of getting heard.
Ministerial Appointments: July 2026

The mainstream media's reporting of vital information about trans healthcare was wrong. Again.

@socialistworker.bsky.social Trans Pride London are specifically asking all members of the SWP NOT to attend this year. Your attendance is not solidarity. You should keep away, we do not want you there.
With ministers in place like Bridget Phillipson, who have lost the trust of those they are supposed to protect, a new direction that would restore equalities to a sound footing can only come from the very top of government. transactual.org.uk/blog/2026/07...
Nicole Lampert also likened disagreeing with transphobia to being anti-semitic.
"Crisis of conscience: how Amnesty International lost its way "By blacklisting women’s groups, the charity has abandoned its founding principles, writes Nicole Lampert" [Telegraph]
I don’t know what to say about that whole era of the UK’s leading anti-trans philosopher rising from obscurity then routinely receiving invitations to headline major philosophy conferences after calling a transparently antisemitic conspiracy theory ‘brilliant pseudonymous investigative reporting’
Robert Peston, "Would you work with Andy Burnham, can he build consensus with the Greens for example?" Zack Polanski, "My problem is, some of these appointments today suggest a continuity Keir Starmer"
This is a terrible idea. It doesn't freaking *work*. Earlier today I saw someone whose Google Health AI was encouraging them to keep drinking through a relapse.
The AI minister thinks the UK should focus on being the world's best AI adopter, not the world's best AI model builder He said Britain can move "further and faster" than the US in applying AI across healthcare, public services and the wider economy (3/6)
