Diana@lesbian.dev · 2w agoApplying to jobs right now feels like such a futile effort. Half never give updates, and the other half are rejections. Seriously we need some kind of UBI or equivilent, cause you can't just let unemployment climb without a safety net.
One thing's that's funny and awful is that earlier this year, I booked to see queer pro trans comedian Sam Morrison - and I had to eat the cost of the ticket because hostels will no longer rent to women without photo ID.
This is an appalling lack of judgement and the surest sign yet that Britain will continue to be Trump's lackey. The war in Iran has cost countless lives, and breached international law - yet we continue to support it. Very, very concerning. Very, very continuity Starmer.

So 167 MPs signed the EDM disapproving the latest EHRC guidance. As of today, the EDM 603, the motion to condemn Amnesty International for calling transphobic groups 'anti-rights' is still stuck on 6 total. Yet this guidance will be forced into our lives without any vote or approval.
This is what happened at our local women's festival (Dundee). GCs demanded an event, organisers said no. GCs threatened to sue, organisers caved. Lots of folks unhappy on both sides. Festival then closed down because volunteers couldn't be fucked with it. Well done "feminists"!
Particularly via tribunal. I don't think GCs have grasped that even if they force compensation or keep their job, they can't force their boss & colleagues to like and respect them. You think you're getting the good projects? Getting promoted? Getting any payrise over COL? Dream on.

Every now and then, it’s worth saying what ought to be obvious: trans people have always existed, and will exist as long as humans do. They’ve not done anything wrong by wanting their existence recognised, supported, and celebrated. The transformation of their existence into “an issue” is evil.
Interesting list of Ministerial appointments by new UK PM. Starmerites recycled though some leading lights sidelined. Absence of anyone from the left. Cabinet may remain an echo chamber, as under Starmer, which led to many poor policy choices. Rebellions may be the only way of getting heard.
