My son knows many of the movie monsters despite never seeing the films. Yet last night he grew deeply upset while watching the start of “Harry and the Hendersons.” Kid shooting rabbit, guy wanting to shoot Bigfoot in the head and the animal eating the live goldfish was just too much for him.

I managed an infamous (now closed) movie theater in Monterey, California, where we played "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" every Fri and Sat night. It was also special because we only screened the UK cut. I had no idea that “Superheroes” had been removed from the U.S. version until the VHS release.

The US debut was September 26 at the UA Westwood in LA. Tim Curry reprised his 1973 role that he had created on stage in London. And it's almost impossible to imagine anyone else doing it.
