Feeling really honoured to have my artwork included in this First Nations News piece. I created it during my time working on a SciArt project with the Australian Centre of Astrobiology, and it is wonderful to see it being used in this context. firstnationsnews.com.au/words-do-mat... 🐡 🧪 🎨 #language

Highly recommend visiting the International Centre for Life 🧬 Fab examples of inclusive, creative & immersive science engagement. They have put a lot of work into making it accessible. Highlights: Relaxed Sunday, planetarium, fossil show (included shadow puppets!), and hands-on experiments. 🧪 🐡

Watching this last night at the Pheonix Cinema & Art Centre moved me (and the stranger next to me) to tears. I cannot recommend watching this enough - powerful documentary with Attenborough I will be waiting to see the outcomes of the June UN Ocean Conference in a few weeks! #scicomm #fish 🧪 🐡

Happy (very belated) tardigrade day! Completely forgot to post on actual tardigrade day - but better late than never! Resharing this blog I wrote and illustrated for the National Space Centre on this fantastic little creatures: www.spacecentre.co.uk/news/space-n... #scicomm #sciart 🧪

Tardigrades – The Ultimate Survivors?

These small earth-dwelling creatures can out-survive us in many apocalyptic scenarios, and might unlock the code to our space survival.

I was lucky enough to be invited on a tour with some other Cambridge SciComm folks over the weekend to the Down House - the home of Charles #Darwin! I saw where he did some experiments in the house & in the garden 🪴, as well as the bedroom he died in! Highly recommend visiting! #scicomm 🧪

Went to Nice in France last month & had a little museum & gallery crawl. This is a great small archaeological museum (name in image), and is a site-museum! Great displays on the historical timelines of the site, and loved the hologram projection - great tool for #scicomm visual storytelling!🧪 🐡

Went to Bradgate Park over the weekend and loved their new information instillations & displays around the park! These boards tell the history of the ruins using fantastic engagement elements - like this turning photo wheel that utilises the spring sunshine! It has given me a new #scicomm idea! 💡🐡

I have a little plea and it's this: please keep posting about things that aren't The Horrors. I am not saying to not look at or be informed about The Horrors. What I am saying—what I am genuinely kind of begging you to do—is keep posting about books and movies and sunsets and pets and joy. Please.
