Mamdani, Cuomo and Sliwa face off one last time Wednesday in a debate hosted by NY1, WNYC and THE CITY.

I teach at CUNY where our students are overwhelmingly working class, and they are *very* motivated by these concerns. Our class discussions around related issues this semester have been vibrant and deep.
A top Mamdani adviser tells me internal data shows taking on Trump's authoritarian abuses resonates. It appeals to working class voters across all demographics, countering the frequent claim that this is a "distraction" from issues working people "really" care about. newrepublic.com/article/2011...
When Black people told you that it is a normal occurrence for police to lie about protest and assaulting officers now you see ... the test run for the justification of authoritarianism always begins in communities of color
If New Yorkers are wondering who will fight back against Federal overreach, we have visible evidence today that Zohran Mamdani and Brad Lander are the candidates that you should rank 1 or 2 Lander literally resisted federal overreach and Mamdani showed up immediately to have his back Fuck Cuomo
"In the room where I was detained, there were posters on the wall... it said in English, 'Are you detained and separated from your children?' ... We are normalizing family separation, we are normalizing due process rights violations, we are normalizing the destruction of constitutional democracy."
"I'm happy to report I'm just fine. I lost a button. But I'm gonna sleep in my bed tonight, safe, with my family... At that elevator, I was separated from someone named Edgardo... Edgardo is in ICE detention and he's not going to sleep in his bed tonight."
The American public is being subjected to a disinformation campaign by our own government. The HHS Secretary, NIH Director, and FDA Director are knowingly and willingly passing along utterly false information about vaccines. Every Republican supports this, without exception.
Aside from the fact that anyone can get seriously ill from COVID, a key point they are deliberately hiding when removing access is that COVID vaccines reduce transmission. People choose to get vaccinated to protect other people. It is wrong and harmful to take that choice away.
They blame pollution but cut the EPA and clean air and water regulations. They blame poor nutrition but cut SNAP and programs to bring local produce to schools. They blame increased screen time while destroying public infrastructure that connects people. All while they take millions off healthcare.
The White House blamed exposure to environmental toxins, poor nutrition and increased screen time for a decline in Americans’ life expectancy Thursday.
Those accused of housing discrimination “know that we don’t have those resources anymore,” one HUD official said. “They also feel emboldened that this administration will not consider the things that they are doing to be illegal.” By @jessecoburn.bsky.social
How the Trump Administration Is Weakening the Enforcement of Fair Housing Laws
Starting with cases involving sexual orientation and identity, the Department of Housing and Urban Development is hobbling enforcement of the Fair Housing Act. Said one HUD attorney: “People are…

Here is the grad speech that NYU is now withholding the student's diploma for: "As I search my heart today in addressing you all…the only thing that is appropriate to say in this time and to a group this large is a recognition of the atrocities currently happening in Palestine."
A principled student said in a grad speech that the “only appropriate thing to say in this moment” is to acknowledge the “atrocities” currently being committed in Palestine. In response, NYU is withholding their diploma + apologizing to the community for the trauma the audience was “subjected to.”
Ben of Ben & Jerry’s *arrested* after confronting RFK Jr. & Congress: "They need to let food into Gaza. They need to let food to starving kids! Congress is paying to bomb poor kids in Gaza, and paying for it by kicking poor kids off Medicaid in the US!"
