The final 2 years of Landry Shamet's 4-year deal with Knicks are partially guaranteed, league source tells @TheAthletic. In Year 3, $1.6M of his $6.2M salary is guaranteed. In Year 4, $1.7M of his $6.6M salary is GTD. He has a player option in Year 4, as Ian Begley reported.

Mohamed Diawara's four-year, $11.2 million contract with the Knicks is guaranteed only for the first two seasons, league source tells @TheAthletic. Starts at $2.6 million salary in 2026-27.

The Deandre Ayton trade further proves one of the least credited rules in the NBA: That every Lakers big man eventually has to play for the Wizards and vice versa. Ayton, AD, Dwight, Markieff Morris, Wagner, JaVale, Thomas Bryant — the cycle will never end.

Mitchell Robinson's eight years with the Knicks should go down as a tremendous success story. Second-round pick from humble beginnings who didn't just stick in the league — he became an all-time rebounder, top-notch defender, well-liked teammate and key cog on a title team.

Ajinca is 21 years old and was a second-round pick in 2024. One of the Knicks' many second-round trades from that draft. Labeyrie is 34 and played in Spain last year. Elonu's the real gem: 39, from the 09 draft & according to his @bball_ref page, hasn't played pro since 2019.

The Knicks acquired the draft rights to THREE international players in their 4-team trade Tuesday night — including the returns of Louis Labeyrie (via LA) and Melvin Ajinca (via Dallas) and the rights to Chinemelu Elonu (via LA). Brock Aller's draft rights bit continues.

If you're building hypothetical Mo Diawara contracts, a 4-year deal using his non-Bird rights (starting at ~$2.6M) could be worth $11.2M total. Only other way to get above $10M total would be to sign him for two years via the non-taxpayer MLE and stay below the second apron.

Mitchell Robinson promised me that when the Knicks won the title, he would make sure one of his customized trucks was in the parade. He has followed through on his promise. The orange truck he's using is his new favorite one and just participated in the Atlantic City Truck meet.
