ok prob final addition to this thread, age restriction is going to continue being an issue and while we can temporary push it away by jumping through hoops and workarounds, the best solution will be to put pressure on lawmakers to push back on these kinds of laws and organize together to fight back

Hot take/rent lowering post: If you call m/f ships, “hetslop,” when they have zero bearing on your ship to begin with, then I assume that you’re a blatant misogynist 🤷🏻‍♀️ Specially if you invalidate queer m/f ships. We can all co exist peacefully, I don’t know why that’s so hard to understand.

The fascist call to familial and national strength is the same stuff documented by Wilhelm Reich in the 30s. "Sexually awakened women, affirmed and recognised as such, would mean the complete collapse of the authoritarian ideology." So wild to see them lay it out so directly.

More than the economic dependency of the wife and children on the husband and father is needed to preserve the institution of the authoritarian family. For the suppressed classes, this dependency is endurable only on condition that the consciousness of being a sexual being is suspended as completely as possible in women and in children. The wife must not figure as a sexual being, but solely as a child-bearer. Essentially, the idealization and deification of motherhood, which are so flagrantly at variance with the brutality with which the mothers of the toiling masses are actually treated, serve as means of preventing women from gaining a sexual consciousness, of preventing the imposed sexual repression from breaking through and of preventing sexual anxiety and sexual guilt-feelings from losing their hold. Fiiinally, the web app pin of Ellipsus works with my phone keyboard's text prediction. That makes it a lot easier to use on my phone. It still doesn't seem to play nice with browser spell check but I can work with that. The predictive text thing really hampered my writing speed.

the idea that women are too pure and delicate and untouchable to experience whatever toxic relationships/angst/whump/etc male characters do and this entire side of the human experience is off-limits for fiction about them is more misogynistic than writing a dark fic about a female character!!
