I draw my characters being weird little jerks whenever possible. Please point and laugh at them. ✨ https://kwillow.tumblr.com/ ✨ https://chocodile.net/amaranthine/

Theo'd be a fan (phan?) of the Phantom of the Opera. I think he would feel a certain connection to any work that is sympathetic to an ugly, rejected, genius goth with social issues and a bad habit of violent outbursts. It's a guilty pleasure but he would sing the songs. In private. (So he thinks.)

Chocodile has long wanted me to make a ref of Ambroys from our completely inexplicable angel/devil AU... at last, I have done it. Ambroys is to humans what sparkledogs are to rottweilers. A sparkleman, if you will.

A reference sheet for a character drawn in a cartoon style. The character is an angel, of the bewinged human variety. He has golden-brown skin, blond hair, iridescent white wings and is absolutely covered in sparkles. A little chibi doodle shows him getting teased by a cigar-smoking devil (his bestie/worstie).

Ill health runs - ran - in the North line. Caring for an ailing mentor is a familiar, almost comforting ritual to Theo. He welcomes the opportunity Hyden presents to fall back into his old routines. It makes him feel useful. It makes him feel that maybe he can fix it this time.

There are rumors that some malady has stricken the Comte de Luxe. His luster has faded, his halo dimmed, and behind each movement there is a twinge of pain… or fear. Of course, he denies it all. He is fine, more than fine, perfect as always - simply feeling “a little drained.”

A Cure For Barbarity 💉 (1/5) A comic focusing on Alex and Theo's conflict: she's an anti-imperialist ex-soldier, he's arrogant mage nobility, she's no-nonsense, he's prone to nonsense, she hates Hyden, he adores the man beyond reason. Theo knows how to get under her skin. In more ways than one.

Bild

A Cure for Barbarity 💉 (3/6) Once he gets his claws in, Theo gets a "feel" for a body's state, partly like it's his own, partly like a toy he's playing with. This could be a useful skill for medicinal purposes, but when your heart is in this creep's hands... that's not very comforting.

A Cure for Barbarity 💉 (4/6) In times like these, it's handy to have a great white shark in your corner. Aka; Theo falls prey to a classic villain blunder: monologuing instead of doing what you need to do and getting gone. (Unrelated: I love to draw Theo's tiny li'l shoes.)

Bild

A Cure for Barbarity 💉 (5/6) Wherein Theo gets tossed about like a rag-doll, but continues to taunt his foes. Maybe Ridge should've punched him after all. It might have shut him up for a bit. Also: Theo reveals he uses ~*healing magic*~! It's not supposed to be used like this.

Bild

A Cure for Barbarity 💉 (6/6) No matter how much creepy viscera magic he can use, Theo knows that one man can't take on a whole company. He can still get a few back-biting remarks in though. An uneasy truce results. He should really go find a tissue for that nosebleed now.

Anon asks if Hyden was confused by Theo's devotion to his mom. Yes, and also 'weirded out', for lack of a better term. He doesn't get why you'd care so much about ANYONE, never mind someone whose only reason for being in your life was birthing you. He sees it as a lack of maturity on Theo's part.

Horrible fat rabbit furry man Hyden smokes a cigar and reads a book in an armchair while he squints at Theo in the background, who is dusting a fancy painted portrait of his mama while sniffling

In his grief, Theo's words are faltering, and his grasp on reality is somewhat unstable, but his convictions are neither. He will never give up on Mother. He simply can't.

Short comic drawn in response to a tumblr ask: "is there anything that would make you give up trying to bring back mother dearest? Or would you die trying?" The comic has a chilly blue-gray color scheme. and depicts an anthro rat character. He is small, pudgy, and dressed in old-fashioned winter clothes.
In the first panel, he sits in a forst of bare-branched aspen trees. Snow falls around him as he breathes foggy air into his gloved palm, watching as the fog breaks around his fingers. His brow is tense and his eyes wide as he says: "there is no giving up. There is no other choice. For me to go on without her--it is as if, ah, as if this fog lingered on the winter air without my breath to form it. As if my shadow still clung to the earth even after the light that cast it went dark. D-do you understand? That I live while she does not is an antinomy."
The second panel pulls back, looking at him from above to reveal that he is leaning against one of the graves in a quiet snowbound graveyard. The shape of the grave casts a long shadow over his body in the shape of a coffin. He looks up at the sky, clutching himself as he continues: "my lungs draw breath, my heart beats, but I am no less a corpse than she. If her chance at life costs the rest of mine--it will have cost nothing at all."
