The problem with "neutral" takes on pro vs anti-ship discourse is that it paints pros as some depraved bunch whose lives revolve around porn and weird ships, when in fact, there's a good amount of us that are pretty vanilla and are just disgusted by all the harassment and cancelling over fiction.
