If you’re explaining this to folks, also relevant to point out that not just anybody can apply. You have to be at an institution that does research, like a university, and have demonstrated your qualifications to run a lab. So that’s not 4% of all comers. It’s 4% of established cancer researchers

We need to do good science communication around this. The payline is the percent of submitted grants that will be funded. So for cancer, 4%.
