I've talked about how much I love Logan-Ashley Kisner's books before; if you haven't read Old Wounds and The Transition and like horror I highly recommend them! And then, pre-order his new book coming next year, Trans Panic!

Very excited to be a part of the cover reveal for Logan-Ashley Kisner (@transhorrors.bsky.social )'s next book, Trans Panic! It's a YA horror novel with a trans girl protagonist, the latter of which still feels fairly rare in YA. Preorders are up now if you want to support trans authors!

In this propulsive, heart-pounding, gender-norm challenging horror novel, a maniac killer descends on a trans gender summer camp and the campers all become targets--or is one actually the killer? From the author of Old Wounds, sleepaway camp has never been so deadly.
For the last twenty years, trans and genderqueer youth have flocked to Camp New Horizons, a trans-exclusive summer camp hidden in Upstate New York. This year, though, the vibe is off.
Newcomer Angela Baker is still reeling from a violent trauma and wants nothing to do with Camp New Horizons. In her mind, transness only puts a target on your back--it's nothing to celebrate, which is all the other campers seem to want to do. Her attitude doesn't exactly make her popular, least of all with her cousin and his friends.
But Angela's refusal to participate is only a harbinger of darker things. As the days pass, campers begin to go missing. Then menacing vandalism appears throughout camp, and the teens can feel it in the air: What has always been a sanctuary is no longer a safe space. Has an outsider discovered New Horizons--or is the threat coming from within?
Stranded in the middle of the woods with no cell service, the campers quickly realize it's up to them to save themselves. Things are escalating. Everyone's on edge. Will anyone get out alive? Or will camp be closed for good?

7: Old Wounds by @transhorrors.bsky.social. A gutting but fantastic book, terrifying and hopeful in equal measure. Time to fight, to dig your heels, to refuse to run. Trans horror WILL put you through The Horrors like nothing else then make you go “fuck. it’s all worth it, despite despite despite”

Hunter’s life is at a turning point: After years of fighting his father for it, he’s gotten top surgery. He’s finally starting to feel comfortable in his own skin... only to be attacked by a strange creature in his backyard.

The encounter should kill him, but his best friend Gabe intervenes, and Hunter is able to walk away from the incident with his life - and new body - mostly intact. Still, something isn’t right. First, his wounds are healing quickly - too quickly. Then there are the feverish nightmares, the sudden return of his period, and his teeth... they’re falling out of his head.

Enter Mars, Hunter’s other best friend. A horror movie devotee, Mars points out the obvious: That mysterious creature was a werewolf, and Hunter is becoming one too - unless they can figure out a cure, which basically means they have to kill the creature that bit him.

Now, Hunter, Gabe, and Mars are in a race against time. A voice that could only belong to the creature itself is worming its way into Hunter’s head, and as the days pass, it’s only getting louder. It promises revenge on Hunter’s transphobic peers if he succumbs to his lycanthropic transformation. Or he can reject the monster and fight alongside his friends before the body he’s fought so hard for slips away for good. The choice is Hunter’s.
