Knocked Out Loaded was the first Dylan album I owned, given to me by a friend of my dads for my 12th birthday. I've always had to defend my love of this one beyond "it was my first Dylan album". But this is right: both "his creative nadir" and it "contained the kernels of his next renaissance."

"Dylan had famously struggled to adjust to the evolving recording techniques of the digital age, a struggle clearly abetted by the additional problem that he simply didn’t give a shit." On my substack, recalling the miasmic charm of "Knocked Out Loaded". theparanoidstyle.substack.com/p/driftin-to...

Look folks, I can only say so much, but I can say this. August 15. Union Pool. The Paranoid Style. The Everymen. Special guests, old friends, new reckoning and the possibility that this could be the last time. Come see us, if you've got the gumption. Not dark yet. Getting there. tinyurl.com/5anj7j9t

It's been seventeen years since I married the most unusual man called Timothy Bracy, a massive repository of professional football information who knows most of the Young Fresh Fellows catalog by heart, and encouraged me to find my voice as the writer in Paranoid Style. Love him.
