Black women get off-color photos from nearly a decade ago printed in local papers. So, I fixed it for them. Here’s a photo of 25 year old me (from a couple of weeks ago) instead of 17 year old me. Talk about manifestations of (even unintended) misogynoir. Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Building housing heedlessly has absolutely caused displacement, especially in Black communities. Two things can be true at once: We need more housing. And new housing done wrong can intensify gentrification. We're seeing it in Charlottesville.

We often ask how to combat voter apathy. Well, on all levels, we must keep an eye on who keeps their word once they are elected.
This time last week I was in Montgomery, AL, volunteering at the National Day of Action for Voting Rights. Such a powerful event. We cannot remain silent in this moment. Racial gerrymandering and voter suppression in the South cannot and should not be ignored.
We often hear teachers say they’re proud of their former students, but as a former student of these two outstanding educators, I’m proud to say that I was their student!!
