This was the purple alkanet lake out to dry first thing today. After 3 washes. So purple 💜 Also the turmeric root lake made in exactly the same way, and madder red made from fermented and digested madder roots. Goldenrod & brown-pink madder lakes are still filtering. Will do rose madder later…

[Siren wailing] pigment shenanigans warning! ⚠️ This is your incoming Sunday pigment shenanigans/shitposts warning. This time: turmeric and alkanet lakes after alcohol extraction. For previous shenanigans, I'll be updating the thread below later.
It's Sunday & therefore time for pigment shitposting! This weekend's shenanigans: goldenrod lake pigment. I'm using early goldenrod (Solidago gigantea) It's a tall wildflower & dye plant that I have in the moth garden. Hoverflies seem to like it alot. Also it's v resilient in this weather...
BlueSky doesn't seem to spread the word around as effectively as that other app so I'm reposting this incredible opportunity again (and again!). Please repost and spread the word to strong candidates. Thank you!

Symmetries of (3, 6)-Fullerenes
A (3, 6)-fullerene is a cubic planar graph whose faces all have 3 or 6 sides. We give an exact enumeration of (3, 6)-fullerenes with V vertices and each of five possible symmetry types: *332, 332, 2*2...

Frieze patterns and aperiodic tilings of the plane
This short note provides two examples of aperiodic frieze patterns of the plane, supported on the rhombic Penrose tiling and the Godrèche--Lançon--Billard tiling. That is, we provide a decoration of t...

On the absolute convergence of the spectral side of the twisted trace formula
We establish the absolute convergence of the spectral side of the twisted trace formula for reductive algebraic groups. More precisely, we extend the absolute convergence theorem of the spectral side ...
