i don't think we know how privileged we have it with sendou I've been hanging around other communities and everytime I show them sendou they just freak out and wish they had something like that instead of everything being on discord or twitter
carbon is fun ig but holy hell is it hard to even open the game rn lol. sucks cuz i feel really motivated to improve
genuinely insulting patch, im done lol
The term meta changes from "most effective tactic available" to "most efficient tactic available" when it comes to team games human error is increased by so much that sometimes the best strategy is too easy to mess up. It's different in fighting games mainly because you only have to worry about YOU
. @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social This is the 52 gal, its used WAY too much its too strong! Its bad for the citizens of New York city, I need you to talk to Nintendo and get this fixed ASAP. Thank you.
Another yap for the vod channel, one that I have had on my mind for the past few weeks and finally got around to. The number 1 most common and detrimental misunderstanding about the game I come across playing comp (and also a PSA to watch a great educational JP vid) youtu.be/6G0A4z_D6VU

I think we’re all overreacting to the xqc stuff Keep scrimming, keep playing in tourneys, keep sharing your content, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: continue to be an inviting community for all We have the ability to set the culture That’s what matters most and it’s why we’re amazing
we should completely abolish the term “support” from splatoon lingo tbh it only serves to hurt players
rapid pro change is genuinely my favorite thing abt the patch lol, fuck that gun
Yet another reason why broadening to a more casual audience is VITAL to competitive community health. Most recent $1mil Capcom Cup champion was a retired Fortnite/Valo streamer. So many sponsored SF6 pro players that are variety streamers or retired competitive players from other genres.
Don't know the full context but Shaka is basically a big variety streamer hosts a lot "casual, yet serious" tournaments. These events usually bring together big variety streamers and vtubers. Not sure if Shaka organized THIS tournament, but seems to be participating. xcancel.com/room_vault/s...
No one said anything, but I often get the feeling that when people say "We need more Y in the Splatoon scene" They don't mean "We should support the smaller members of this community that are proficient in Y" And instead mean "We need a major member known for X to start doing Y instead"
no comms from like 7/8 teams it seems like nowadays tourneys gen unwatchable boring asf
as TOs can we enforce that people alias to their screen names when on stream PLEASEEEEE im trying to write a comm doc and these guys are named "iPad Air", "Hu", and "Hey" and i cannot figure out whos who

what are the Six Genders? wrong answers only
discord exploded, how am i supposed to complain about discord on discord now?
Something I learned from the AZ Melee scene while I was in it was the value of keeping disputes as private as they possibly could be. If you had a problem with someone, you DMed that person and only that person about it and gave them an honest chance to discuss it with you and make corrections [1/6]
Reading people's experiences with misogyny and transphobia and harassment over the past week-ish, I'm not shocked to see how much of a role Twitter has had in augmenting hate in the community. So much rot could be fixed if we delegitimize it as a place of discussion. Delete your accounts, please.
begging pleading for one of the weekly TOs to modify their tournament to be no-frills, SINGLE elim, all pre-selected zones maps, with strictly enforced time limits make it all bo5 for fun it'll still run fast i'm pretty sure no prizes for guessing what i'm doing right now #compsplatoon
In Thursday's update I will add new tools that aim to aid organizers in making sure tournaments run in time. 1) Bracket displays time each set has been ongoing for 2) Match pages display the target time per set 3) End set option (thread for more information) #sendouink
By far the most refreshing thing I remember playing JP tourneys in S2 was just how seriously they took being on-time. Rules called you a "war criminal" if you did not join a lobby within one minute of it being made 😭 The disrespect towards others' time is a huge reason I don't play many tourneys
Can this be a rule in western tournaments
