For those following me from Tapas lists, hello!! I have 3 comics on Tapas: Ultramarine Weather, Happiness Theory, and Glen Hollow. I have contracts for all three but only one isnt exclusive. I'm hoping to get my IP back so I can continue and print them 😭 I hope you can enjoy them!

It sucks what they turned into when bought out and it sucks that now I gotta figure out if they still own my IPs and what to do from here but honestly? Not surprised and a lil relieved. vertigo has been kicking my ass lately and its making it VERY hard to do anything for enough time to actually get it done!!! im frustrated 🥲
Midwest was ok, I made a good profit but honestly the 9+ hours drive is no longer worth it to me, so I won't be returning to chicago unless I get into something big like acen or c2e2. I just...cannot travel that long anymore without a couple thousand in pure profit when local cons do WAY better.
I feel like a lot of artist alley complaints would be solved if we all agreed to stop doing self-serve tables. I would stop having people try to buy/unhook display copies and non-menu tables would have less stolen product. Win-win.

Thinking of making something just to produce "content" to feed the algorithm is exactly why people get burnt out. If you're not making art for yourself first, why are you hurting yourself?
My crankiest old man take is that referring to all art/entertainment/journalism/criticism/comedy/advertising as “content” helped pave the way for broad-ish acceptance of AI slop.
