Thanks to hard won medical advances, with the right treatment people diagnosed with HIV are now able to live long & healthy lives. But the work to end new cases, support people living with HIV and fight stigma continues. That work must go on to protect the living and honour those who didn’t make it.

Brilliant to see a normalised portrayal of living with HIV today in episode one of #TipToe – and the huge medical progress made since It's a Sin. One pill a day protects Leo's immune system from harm and means he #CantPassItOn to partners.
"Well, in 1994, I was dying," says Leo in #TipToe. Living well with HIV 32 years later. Medical progress in the fight against HIV has transformed a diagnosis from a terminal one to a longterm, manageable condition.
Nigel Farage was wrong in 2015 and he was wrong yesterday. Treatment means people living with HIV can live a healthy life and can't pass it on. Withholding HIV treatment risks HIV transmission. Read more: https://tht.org.uk/news/chief-exec-leading-hiv-charity-calls-farage-put-down-dog-whistle

At #35AEC @richardangell.bsky.social from the Terence Higgins Trust made a powerful point in our session: "Not acting on Alzheimer’s is the ultimate economic" failure. The global cost of dementia is a clear call to action for governments to invest in diagnostics and treatments.

🎉A gonorrhoea vaccine will be rolled out in England within months. This is a game-changer which will help tackle record high levels. We've campaigned for this and are so glad that the government has listened.
