Nonetheless, the biggest and most influential institutions in American life performing affirmation of LGBT social and civil equality is a good thing.
Has the word “dubious” shifted meaning In recent years? I always understood it as a quality/veracity of a thing (eg. “the company’s actions were of dubious legality”), but have been hearing it a lot recently as a quality of a person passing judgement (“I am dubious about his talent). Like skeptical

Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social · 2mo agoOnce again, there's a reason they won't spell out how we'd go extinct. Are we getting Jurassic Park'd because the AI is reinventing dinosaurs? Are they getting access to the nuclear codes and hypnotizing the president into using them? They are referring to bank/infrastructure hacks and exaggerating.
Now that I live in Northern MN I’ve realized how difficult it is to attend from here. Unlike other parts of the state there is no public or chartered transit to get you there, so your cost is 5 hours of driving and at least $100 in gas, parking, & tickets just to get in the gate.

Total attendance ended up being around 1.9 million attendees, falling short of the pre-pandemic 2019 record of 2.1 million attendees.

It has been in the upper 90s here the past few days, in a place where most people don’t have AC. Until recently it was rare to get above like 85 at all, and it would always drop to like 60 at night. And now you can’t open your doors amd windows because of this shit.

ICE is engaged in a very large escalation nationwide, with the agency claiming to be hitting record arrest numbers amid the return of quotas. This has gotten very little attention from the media because ICE learned lessons from the chaotic disasters of Kristi Noem’s tenure. Keep a watch.

I hate this punitive approach. If the penalty is a fee then it is just a negligible cost of booking for a wealthy person, and a barrier for poor folks who would otherwise go.
