1/8 Shocking new figures from the latest LeDeR report reveal that people with a learning disability are dying nearly 20 years younger than the general population at 62 and a half years old. 39% of these deaths were avoidable, compared to nearly 22% for the general population.
Public transport should be accessible and available for everyone. This important report from @mencap.org.uk highlights issues faced by people with learning disabilities when using public transport, including safety, difficulty applying for travel passes, and infrequent services.
Today we launched our new report #NoJourneyLeftBehind, shining a light on the devastating impact the public transport system has on people with a learning disability.
